Sell More Products and Services In Your Biz
When we talk about selling products or services...specifically being a part of an MLM, I think we can get easily jaded right off the back when we try to sell what we’re passionate about.
I know when I started with a popular MLM, we followed a template as our strategy. And honestly, it never worked for me. It felt foreign, spammy, and it never converted in to a sale or new customer.
Let’s say you’ve posted in Facebook about your product or service and you’ve gotten inquires. Maybe you have sent messages to people (which is not my favorite strategy) but I think if you target and speak to the right people, it can be effective. (No mass messages of “Hey girl…” to people you haven’t spoken to or have a relationship with)
Someone is interested and you get so excited...like “Finally, my first sale or first customer in my downline.” But then....you don’t hear anything. That can be really crushing.
What do you do if you've heard crickets since your initial encounter with someone?
The key is in following up.
I do not like hopping on the phone...and my ideal client doesn’t either so again, I wouldn’t follow that strategy if it feels weird or you don’t have the time. But what I would do is follow up.
Silence is NOT rejection.
Think about ALL you have going on and the things you keep saying, “Oh, I’ll get to that..” Your customers have the same lives. So why we’re here, on the edge of our seats waiting for them to respond to our offer, they have moved on to their kids, their schedules, what’s for dinner, that car repair and more. They MAY still be highly interested...and that’s where you come in!
Following up does not have to be spammy or awkward if you’ve already opened the door with a conversation.
Here are 3 tips for starting the convo about your product/service and then how to follow-up:
Reach out to people you KNOW would benefit from your product/service - When I started as a VA, I found online business owners who I had purchased from and just told them, “Hey, I love what you're doing and if I can help you in any way, let me know.” And usually they will respond because it would benefit their business.
Mention a date you will touch base - Actually say, “Hey, I will reach back out in 2 weeks to see how it’s going…” That holds you accountable and let’s them know you’re not just trying to make a sale.
Actually follow up - I started a document and wrote down who I reached out too, what day I did, what they may need help with and what my future actions were (like when I would follow up)
It does not have to be complicated or nerve wracking as you try to add value to people’s lives. My biggest overall tip is to be yourself. Some of us really need to sell our products to make our budget each month so that is stressful, but if that’s all you’re thinking about, you won’t sell anything. Seek to add value and actually help people by bettering their lives. Do your own “feels right to you marketing”
This is exactly the style of marketing we teach in the VA Training Bootcamp. All of our ladies got jobs after the bootcamp in the first round. It does work! We want YOU to get those conversions the right way, and that's what we stress in the bootcamp. Click the LINK below to sign up! The next round starts September 18th!
