The Number One Reason Why You Aren’t Accomplishing Your Goals

Back to school for me - a now former teacher - used to be a time of stress + anxiety.  It wasn’t that I hated being a teacher.  It was that I craved the freedom + flexibility I had in the summer.

❌I had a 30 minute commute to work.
❌I’d put in an 8 hour work day.
❌I’d coach for an extra 2 hours every afternoon.
❌I had a 30 minute commute home.
❌By the time I got home, it was usually 6 or 6:30, so I’d only have an hour or 2 to spend with my kids before putting them to bed (they are a TERROR if they go to bed after 8PM).
❌Then, I’d spend the rest of my evening writing practice plans or planning my health lessons for the next day.
❌Rinse + Repeat.

Two hours.  That’s all the time I would get with my kids every day.  And when I was coaching volleyball, that also meant most of my Saturdays were eaten up with tournaments, meaning even more time away from them.

I felt stuck + I was praying for something that was going to help me get that time and flexibility I was craving.

Just recently, one of my Timehops from a few years ago talked about how I wish there was I job I could do from home that would help support my family + let me be home with them at the same time.  I was desperate.  I knew something needed to change, or I was going to break.

So, I set a goal for myself.  I was going to find a way to quit my teaching job and work from home.  I had no idea what I was going to do or how I was going to do it, but that was my goal.

I set that goal FOUR YEARS AGO.  And guess what?  I wasn’t getting any closer to that goal because I wasn’t doing one simple thing.

I WASN’T PUTTING IN THE WORK.

I wasn’t taking ACTION in order to achieve my goals.  Sure, I could still be writing down my goals every day, declaring them to people, praying for God to show me the right path (which he did of course), but until I actually did the WORK, NOTHING HAPPENED.

We have a lot of people come to us, asking us either how to get started as a virtual assistant or how to build a business online.  Some of them we help end up being HUGELY successful, while others don’t.

And guess what the difference was?

If you said, the ones that are successful actually put in the work… DING DING DING!  You get 1 million points!

It’s that simple.  Set the goal then take the steps necessary to achieve that goal.

Don’t know the first step?  ASK.  Seriously!  The first step is ASKING someone who has done what you want to do.  I wanted to start a run coaching business as an out from my job.  So, I asked someone who started a run coaching business as an out from their job.  And she’s still my mentor to this day.  In fact, I wouldn’t be where I am today without her help.

Your goals are absolutely possible!  I BELIEVE that you, YES YOU, can achieve that big lofty goal that you want to achieve.  But, NO ONE is going to do the work for you.

It’s up to you, my dear.  Start taking action TODAY!
